Black Creek Community Farms (BCCF) is undoubtedly a powerhouse within the Downsview community, with their ongoing commitment towards local engagement, education, and enrichment clear in their initiatives. Below are some of their upcoming events!
Calling all youth! The Art on My Mind program, by the Art Gallery of York University in partnership with BCCF continues. Join visual artists Curtia Wright and Ray Vidal in a series of mural painting workshops to transform shipping containers into artistic masterpieces! Workshops run August 25, 26, 29, 30, and 31 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
Have you ever wanted to learn about beekeeping and the important role that pollinators play in growing our food? If so, you won’t want to miss BCCF’s Intro to Beekeeping and Pollinator Plants workshop! Join the BCCF on August 27 from 10am - 2pm for an action-packed day. Spots are limited.
The Thursday Farm Stands are back! Visit their on-site farm stand every Thursday for a selected variety of fresh, organic, locally-grown produce and other delights, including local honey, cared for by BCCF and the Toronto Beekeepers’ Collective.
BCCF, in partnership with Corner Commons (Jane/Finch Centre) and the Black Entrepreneurship Alliance (Black Creek Community Health Centre) is hosting a pop-up market featuring Black-led food and drink vendors. Stop by Corner Commons from 12:00 - 6:00 pm on September 3.
Join BCCF for their Brunch at The Farm Fundraiser on September 17 and 18 from 12:00 - 3:00 pm. Indulge in an East African culinary experience curated by Chef Bashir Munye and using BCCF’s fresh, organic produce. Vegan and vegetarian options are available. Accompanied by an afternoon of live music and entertainment, you do not want to miss this one-of-a-kind event. Support the farm and their initiatives of providing high quality produce and programming to the community while enjoying an afternoon of food and fun!
