TORONTO, ON – On August 18th from 6pm to 8pm ahead of Downsview Park’s “Movies Under the Stars” and on August 19th from 1pm to 5pm, North York Arts welcomes the community to Inspire North at The Orchard Pavillion of Downsview Park for a festival full of art and inspiration.
Registrations are now open to secure a free ticket to the festivities on Friday, Aug 18 2023 and Saturday, Aug 19 2023 at The Orchard Pavilion (M3K 2C5).
A main feature of the festival are two interactive art installations by Leila Refahi and Jieun Kim, as festival goers will be invited to watch these talented artists in action while they create an interactive art installation and chalk mural in real time, accompanied by impressive musical performances by Big Smoke Brass, Nathan Baya, and Sean Stanley Trio.
There will also be inspiring dance performances by Rakeem Hardy (dancer with world renowned company KiddPivot / Crystal Pite) and Zoe Kwan with TOES FOR DANCE that are sure to blow audiences away, as well as drag performances by Bombae of Canada’s Drag Race, and one of Toronto’s favourite drag kings, Alexandher Brandy.
The festival welcomes artists and community members of all ages with family-friendly fun including a kite-making eco-friendly art station led by OrfeEcoArt on Friday, and an exciting arts activation by the lake on Saturday.
This one-of-a-kind festival is sure to inspire audiences in more ways than one.
